Role Overview: Director of Education, Workforce
The Director of Education, Workforce is a dynamic and engaging professional responsible for overseeing the successful execution of the 12th-grade capstone experience and credentialing, as well as building an alumni network as students transition to adulthood. This role involves supporting 12th-grade onboarding, monitoring and guiding progress towards goals, and establishing a robust system to connect qualified graduates with internship and early career opportunities. This position is critical in laying the foundation for new systems that enhance student competency development and capstone completion during their senior year. It ensures that the capstone experience is fully utilized to facilitate student growth and the development of future-ready skills. As part of this role, you will strengthen the 12th-grade experience by creating pathways of support for students through a digital talent marketplace and launching an alumni network that provides a sense of community, targeted workshops, and advancement opportunities for graduates. The Director of Education, Workforce is dedicated to maximizing the effectiveness of the 12th-grade capstone experience during the pilot, ensuring students acquire the necessary credentials and skills to transition seamlessly from high school to young adulthood, while remaining connected and supported as they embark on their professional journeys.
Primary Responsibilities:
12th-Grade Pilot Support & Oversight:
Provide vision to teachers and students on the value of the 12th grade experience to build skills and smoothly transition from high school to their next steps, and remain connected and supported as they embark on their professional journeys
Monitor teacher ability to use the system, troubleshoot in the moment, and provide insight to national build resources/improvements for scale
Collaborate with 12th-grade teachers and counselors to identify opportunities to connect content to college and career readiness requirements
Alumni Network Development & Facilitation:
Establish and maintain a comprehensive alumni database
Organize events and activities to foster a sense of community among graduates.
Develop communication strategies to keep alumni informed and engaged with the school
Conduct workshops and engagement opportunities to continue to hone skills
Career and Internship Connections & Quality Assurance:
Support the Development Team to identify business partners and develop messaging to connect early career professional opportunities
Build sustaining partnerships with local businesses and organizations to create placement opportunities and monitor alumni preparedness
Provide career counseling and support services to alumni, including resume reviews, interview preparation, and networking advice
Qualifications (required)
Desired Experience
Bachelor's degree in College Career Readiness/Counseling, Talent Development, or another related field
Partnership Development, College & Career Readiness, and Alumni Engagement & Support:
Experience designing, facilitating, and managing college and career readiness programs
Proven success in building and managing alumni engagement initiatives and databases
Experience coordinating internship pipelines or early career placement programs
Experience in youth development or post-secondary transition support, especially for recent high school graduates
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficient in the Use of Technology & Written/Verbal Communication:
Ability to translate real-time feedback into programmatic improvements and scalable resources
Strong communication, presentation, organization, and public speaking skills with experience adapting style based on the needs and perspectives of the audience
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, E-Learning technologies, alumni databases, volunteer databases, etc.
