JA Inspire Virtual 2022
Career Exploration
Event Completed!
When: Thursday, January 27, 2022
Where: Virtual
Time: 8:30 AM ET
Launched in 2018, Junior Achievement of Central Florida has partnered with the School District of Osceola County and Orange County Public Schools to impact the education and career goals of more than 7,000 8th graders through the JA Inspire Program.
JA Inspire is a unique program designed to help 8th grade students explore and understand their career interests, skills, and work priorities. JA Inspire is more than a career fair, it brings together the business community and local schools and is designed to help launch middle school students into their futures: high school, college, and careers beyond.
JA Inspire Virtual is a coalition of educators and industry leaders, where the center of our work is a powerful, virtual career exploration event.
We are looking for companies and individuals who care about the future leaders in our community, who are willing to sponsor this program and/or become virtual exhibitors at the career expo. Together we can forge the critical link between school and the workplace, opening students’ minds to what is possible and the steps they will need to take to achieve success in the future.
This year the JA Inspire Program provided students with insights into careers in industries including:
Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources
Architecture, Engineering & Construction
Business & Finance
Government, Public Administration & Law
Health & Life Sciences
Hospitality, Tourism & Arts
Technology
Manufacturing & Logistics
Junior Achievement of Central Florida recognizes the need for young adults to develop an education and career plan for high school that helps them get one step closer to achieving their goals after graduation. Middle School students are the specific focus for this ambitious program. Too often, students do not complete the necessary high school level math, science or even career-tech electives they need to begin postsecondary training, certification programs, apprenticeships or even 2 or 4-year degree programs. In order for students to achieve the financial success they desire, they must learn the expectations of the current workforce, so they can obtain the education and training necessary to enter such careers in the near future.
